Full Amazing Spider-Man Trailer hits the Internet!

Amazing Spider-Man PosterThe full official trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man has just hit the webs, and I think I just exploded web fluid all over myself! Wow.

Maybe I’m extremely easily pleased, but from what I can see, the movie looks to be a visual feast as well as providing a great basis for an origin reboot.

This guy wears a mask, like an outlaw. Peter: I think he’s trying to do something maybe the police can’t. Peter wrong-foots Gwen Stacy’s father by suggesting that Spider-Man is more effective than the cops. Looks like George Stacy is going to be this movie’s Spidey-hating authority figure.

There’s a rumor of a new species in New York. It can be aggressive if threatened. Doesn’t look like Peter and Curt Connors are going to get along at all. We see Rhys Ifans as Connors, but there’s some good footage of a rampaging Lizard who’s proving to be enough of a match for Spider-Man.

Thirty-eight of New York’s finest versus one guy in a unitard. Yes, George Stacy brings the LOLz with perhaps one of the most up-to-the-moment gags I’ve heard in a long time!

And although there’s a little bit of screen time devoted to Peter being bullied and looking angsty, it’s nowhere near the emo-levels attained by Sam Raimi. And likewise, the Peter/Gwen romance isn’t overplayed to the same saccharine levels as the Maguire/Dunst pairing. At least there’ll be no upsode-down kissing in this one.

As for Spider-Man himself, he seems to have a different kind of mask, since his jaw doesn’t seem to move when he talks. I love the costume, and that fight scene between Spider-Man and the police kicked serious ass. We’ve still got a while to wait though, Spidey-fans: the movie’s slated for release on 3rd July 2012.
